10 Tips for Presenting Ideas on Paper

  1. When presenting, be quick and get to the point, especially when dealing with professionals.
  2. Use words to fit your idea.  If it is art, use creative words. If it is drafting use precise word.  Make sure your words fit your ‘audience.’
  3. Don’t use a lot of pictures.  Charts speak well to professionals.
  4. Do not use bright colors.  Easy natural colors work best.
  5. Use nice paper.  Cotton based paper looks elegant.
  6. Don’t be afraid of black and white. Consider your budget.  Use color only if the idea absolutely needs to be conveyed with color.
  7. Use a presentation folder and make sure you include your business cards. Free business cards here.
  8. Leave a sample.  If you are planning a business making candles, leave one with them so they can see a sampling of your work.
  9. Remember, these business professionals deal with people presenting ideas everyday make sure your idea stands out.  Think creatively.
  10. Proofread!  Get at least three people to read your information before you even print it out.

One last thought: You are not the only one with good ideas.  Businessmen may have heard an idea before, but they have not heard it from you.  Make sure they remember who you are. You are a talented person whom God created to be a unique.  Let others see the strength that you have inside.  Anyone can make a presentation, but it takes a special effort to connect with others.
