Analysis Paralysis

teen entrepreneur motivation

I have had to remind three different teens about the dangers of Analysis Paralysis this week alone in my teen coaching sessions.  One of them asked if this was a new word for me, I told him I heard about it in 1992 when I had the same problem.

So, what is it?

It is when you get so caught up in an idea so much that you want to make sure you know everything about it before you get started doing something.  Basically, you get stuck planning and never get going.

It always ends up the same way: a few months or years later, someone else comes up with the idea.

Look, your idea is never gong to be perfect.  Any good concept takes a lot of effort and will be constantly evolving and changing.

Has anyone seen Youtube, Twitter or Facebook recently?  Over the last few months, they have undergone significant changes.  The world is in a constant state of change and so are you.  Don’t you think your ideas will develop?  Yes!  And, you can develop them better when you take action on them.

I know you need to put some research into what you want to do and that is fine.  But, take action on your research every step of the way.  There is always some form of action that can be taken, you just have to look for the opportunity and take advantage of it.

RRGH!  This really boils my blood. (ewww that’s gross!)  I know procrastination can be fun, but seriously, not when it comes to your business ideas.  I told one of the guys somethng that may help you take action: “Each day that you don’t take action on your business.  I want you to close your eyes and imagine yourself flushing one hundred dollar bills down the toilet.”  Not taking action is throwing away money that you could be making on your idea.

Every day you don’t take action means another day longer it will take you to be a success.

So do it!  And if you need help, contact me…please..use our contact form.  Don’t think you have to do this on your own, there are many of us out here that will help you.  As a matter of fact, I just put together a group of people called YETI.  They are a team that helps young entrepreneurs through influence, hence the name Young Entrepreneur Team of Influencers.

OK, I better get off my soapbox.  I just really want you teens to know that there is someone out here in this big world that believes in you.  Now, you just have to believe in yourself enough to take some action.

The only thing we have to fear is fear itself!  Make it happen!

I am rooting for you! (-Lylizm-)

He is 21, so that is close enough to a teen to be on this page!
