Invest in you

teen with money

I know when you hear invest, as a teen, you think of money. Well, it is. It is money and time.  You have to invest in yourself as a teen.  Just for the fun of it, let’s call it INVEST-TEEN.

Let’s start with time.  You have to learn about business if you want to be in business.  There are a bunch of free ways to learn online. Even some major colleges post their classes online. You can have a virtual degree in Business if you want and use that knowlege now.

As far as money, everytime you buy a soda, coffee or whatever your favorite thing is, that is money you could be using to invest in yourself. Let’s say you buy a $4 coffee each weekday. That is $20 a week, or $80 a month. What if you only bought 2 a week and invested the other in your business? You would have about $48 to spend on your business.  It is a small sacrifice now that will pay off so that you never have to go without when you get your business built and growing.

TAKE IT TO THE NEXT LEVEL: What if you used that caffine addiction to fuel your results? What you do, is force yourself to earn money in your business to pay for that coffee. If you don’t make money in your business that week, you don’t get your coffee (reward!). This method gives you rewards for building your business and is a personal motivation strategy that can help in many areas of your life.

But wait, what if you have no money, no business and you are just getting started. What if you don’t even have any money for a soda each week and things are tight? Well, motivate yourself. Go out there and help other people. There are people in your neighborhood who need lawns mowed, garages cleaned, houses painted…you have to look for opportunities (or create them). There is money to be made, you just have to allow yourself to get out there and find it.

Remember, you make it happen!

He is 21, so that is close enough to a teen to be on this page!
