Growing up

Their are 5 different types of “growths”.

  • Intellectual growth. This is basically growing smarter and wiser. In order to grow in this area of life you need study skills.  And the more you know the better your business is going to be. (As long as the knowledge is relevant to the business.)
  • Social growth is to me getting more friends, talking to more people and generally losing all feelings of shyness. To grow in this area of life you need people skills. And if your more social then your businesses name might start to get more known. And it is just cool to get more friends.
  • Emotional growth. This is like the cousin of the social growth area. You need to learn how to process your emotions to learn a lot about this individual subject, check out lylizm
  • Physical growth is pretty simple. This is growing stronger. The bible calls you body a Temple  Treat it that way. Say no too much suguar. Run and do some push-ups. As teenagers we should be doing this already.
  • Spiritual growth is growing toward GOD. Do things like praying and studying the bible will help you grow in this area. It is totally worth it.

Seize The Day

For those of you who don’t know this is my 25th article on Tyloid (yeahhh) and I wanted this article to b special so I picked one of the most important topics I know of. That is  Carpe Diem which is seize the day written in Latin (see  now you now Latin.)  Now the reason this is so important is because so little of us do this. A lot of teenagers are on the computer playing shooting games. (Not that I have anything against you if you do) And a lot  of the times we say “I’ll do that later”. Never say that about something important like getting saved.
The way I try to seize the day is list all the things I need to do today. If you’re not doing anything try and find something productive to do.

CARPE DIEM!

Appearing professional

This is mainly dedicated to someone with a business interview but is important for any formal occasion. Basically there are certain rules that you should follow to be taken seriously.

  1. Dress nicely. I’m talking ironed collard shirt and khaki pants. No shorts, stained shirts, or  pants with holes.
  2. Clean up. Take a shower and shave. Don’t forget deodorant, and remember nothing ruins a interview quicker than B.O.
  3. Use grammar. Don’t use  ain’t, cuz, dog, or anything like that. (But don’t use big words that you don’t know the meaning of.)
  4. Appear organized have everything that you need. (Pencil and paper!)
  5. Sit straight and have respect. NO gum.

With these 5 rules you can succeed.

how to Pro/Con

Making desisions  can be tricky. One way to help you make decisions is a T chart to weigh the pro’s and con’s. Pro’s are advantages of a situation and con’s are the disadvantages of a given situation. For example – say you were looking at a certain way of advertising your new business in the newspaper, you could use the T chart method to help you list the positives and the negatives of this method of advertising. The ultimate goal is having in black and white all of the positives and negatives in a situation. If the pro’s outnumber the cons it could be a good descision. If the con’s outweight the pro’s it could blow up in your face

A pro is something that will benefit you, anything positive that is associated with a decision or a choice. A con is the opposite, the negatives, draw backs.

Divide a paper in half, on one half list all of the positives ex.

 lots of people see it

make your business look more legitimate

 reach a new clients

On the other half of the paper, list all of the negatives ex.

lots of useless phone calls associated with your ad

costs money gives competitors an idea of where you stand

You continue listing all of your ideas on the subject, you could even ask trusted people their opinion and list that too.

Be careful – because you could have one extremely good pro that will outweigh a few little cons. Somethings are just worth a risk.

What is leadership?

Leadership is a skill that is desired by many.A lot of people have different ideas about leadership. If you ask 10 people to define leadership, you will get 10 different definitions. How would you define leadership? Would you include certain morals? The way I would personally define it is “The ability to get someone to follow you when their not required.” Do you agree?

prioritizing

Prioritizing is something that separates the people who thrive and the people who survive.

The definition of the word prioritize is determining the relative importance of items or tasks.

So in other words ordering the tasks from most important to least important. You should do this in the beginning of each month or week. This allows you to see which task you should put the most time in.

First make a list of all of your tasks. Then separate them into four groups: High importance High urgency, High importance low urgency, Low importance High urgency, or low importance low urgency.

High importance High urgency:is something that is something that could hurt your business if you don’t do it and needs to be done soon. Like . . .

Stopping anything that can give the immediate impression to somebody that your business is bad

Going to an appointment

Rescheduling with a customer

Stopping anything that customers don’t like.

High importance low urgency:is something that can hurt you business if not done but, doesn’t need to be done right now. Like ….

Paying expenses. (As long as there not due in at least a week)

Making sure customers like your service.

High urgency low importance:is something that doesn’t NEED to be done but if your going to do it it needs to be done soon. Like…

Signing up for an event that happens soon that may improve the awareness of your business.

Stocking supplies based on a sale.

Low importance low urgency:is something that doesn’t need to be done and doesn’t need to be done. You could question of doing this and decide not to do it. If you want to do this but don’t have time then you could assign it to somebody else.
